SkyForge Terms of Use

Revision 1.1
Effective date: 28 July 2026

1. General provisions

SkyForge is an online platform and community for aeromodellers, intended for keeping a digital hangar, tracking components and projects, documenting and analysing aviation incidents, exchanging technical information, maintaining a knowledge base and using engineering tools.

By using SkyForge, creating an account or continuing to use the platform after reading these Terms, you agree to comply with them.

If you do not agree with the Terms, do not use the platform features that require acceptance of these Terms.

The core features of SkyForge are currently provided free of charge. In the future, additional free or paid features may appear on the platform. The terms for providing paid features, if they appear, will be communicated separately before their purchase or use.

2. Platform operator

SkyForge is an independent project and is run by a private individual from the Republic of Armenia.

Operator: Andrey Agafonov

Country: Republic of Armenia

Contact: info@skyforgeapp.com

The operator determines the main purposes and means of the functioning of SkyForge and of data processing within the platform.

SkyForge is not an aircraft manufacturing organisation, a certification body, an aviation regulator or an organisation that clears aircraft for operation.

3. Account

An account is required to use some SkyForge features.

The user must provide up-to-date information needed for the account to work and keep their access credentials secure.

You are responsible for actions performed with your account if you gave access to it to another person or if access became possible due to a failure to take reasonable security measures.

If unauthorised access is suspected, it is recommended to change the access credentials immediately and notify the SkyForge operator.

Sign-in with Google or other authentication methods supported in the future may be used for authorization.

4. Age of users

SkyForge is intended primarily for independent use by persons who, under applicable law, are able to accept these Terms on their own.

If the legislation of the user's country requires the consent of a parent or legal representative for the use of such services or for the processing of a minor's personal data, the user must obtain such consent.

SkyForge is not specifically intended for children.

5. User content

The user can create and upload to SkyForge information about models, aircraft, components, projects, flights, incidents and settings, as well as photos, files, comments and other materials.

Rights to user content remain with the user.

SkyForge does not acquire ownership of the materials uploaded by the user.

By uploading content, the user grants SkyForge a limited, non-exclusive and royalty-free right to store, copy, create technically necessary derivative versions of, process and display this content, solely to the extent necessary for the platform features to work.

For example, SkyForge may create a reduced copy of a photo to display it in the aircraft list, or technically convert a file for its storage or display.

This licence does not give SkyForge the right to use private user content in advertising, to sell it, or to publish it regardless of the privacy settings chosen by the user.

6. Private and public content

Unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific feature, user content is considered private and accessible only within the access settings provided by the platform.

Publishing material, providing a public link or granting access to other users happens only as a result of the corresponding action by the user.

Before publishing, the user should keep in mind that materials published on the internet can be copied, saved or distributed by other people beyond SkyForge's control.

The user decides for themselves what information they are willing to make public.

If the user deletes their account, community materials they published publicly (for example, knowledge base / Wiki articles) that have become part of the shared knowledge base and may have been extended by other participants may be preserved by the platform in de-identified form: the material itself remains available to the community, but its authorship is detached from the deleted account.

7. Third-party content

The user must have the necessary rights to the materials they upload or publish.

It is not allowed to post, without legal grounds, other people's photos, texts, drawings, software, documentation or other protected materials.

When publishing information about aviation incidents, events or other people, avoid unjustified disclosure of third parties' personal data, including addresses, contact details and other information that could violate their rights.

Upon receiving a substantiated complaint, SkyForge may restrict access to the disputed material while the request is being reviewed.

8. Community rules

When using SkyForge's public features, it is prohibited to post illegal content, malicious files, spam or materials that violate the rights of third parties, or to use the platform for fraud, unauthorised access to other people's data or disruption of the service.

Threats, targeted harassment of users and impersonation of another person are not allowed.

SkyForge may hide or remove materials that violate these Terms and, in the event of material or systematic violations, temporarily restrict or terminate the access of the corresponding account.

Where possible, the user will be given an opportunity to contact the operator to clarify the reasons for the restriction.

9. Engineering calculations and technical information

SkyForge may provide calculations, reference materials, recommendations, component data and other engineering tools.

Such information is provided solely for informational and supporting purposes.

Results may contain errors, be based on incomplete input data or fail to account for the specifics of a particular design.

They are not a certified engineering assessment and do not replace an independent engineering check.

The user independently verifies calculations, structural strength, component compatibility, electrical parameters, centre of gravity, control system settings and other characteristics of the model before operating it.

10. Flight safety

The user is solely responsible for the safe building, setup, maintenance and operation of their model.

The user must comply with the airspace usage rules applicable at the place of operation, the requirements for unmanned and radio-controlled aircraft, flight restrictions and safety requirements.

Information from SkyForge must not be treated as permission to perform a specific flight.

11. Information from other users

Wiki materials, comments, aircraft descriptions, incident analyses and other community content may be created by SkyForge users.

The operator does not guarantee the accuracy of such information.

Before using other users' technical recommendations, you should independently assess their applicability and safety.

12. SkyForge intellectual property

The name, interface, program code, design, graphic elements and materials created directly for SkyForge are protected by applicable law to the extent that they are objects of the corresponding rights.

This provision does not extend to user content or third-party materials.

13. Platform availability

SkyForge is developed as an independent project and is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We strive to maintain the operability and safety of data, but we do not guarantee the absence of errors, temporary outages, connection loss or incompatibility of individual features.

SkyForge features may be added, changed or removed as the project develops.

In the event of significant changes affecting users' rights or the processing of their data, the corresponding information and documents will be updated.

14. Backups

SkyForge may create backups of data to restore the platform after technical failures.

Despite the measures taken, the user should not use SkyForge as the only storage location for critically important drawings, logs, photos, configurations or other irreplaceable data.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the SkyForge operator is not liable for damage arising solely from the use of unverified technical recommendations, errors in the user's input data, the actions of other users, or the use of the platform for purposes other than its intended use.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Account deletion

The user may stop using SkyForge and request the deletion of their account.

Personal data associated with the account is deleted or de-identified within a reasonable technical period, except for information that must be temporarily kept for security, backup recovery, dispute resolution or compliance with legal requirements.

Data may remain in backups for some time until their scheduled rotation.

Publicly published community materials (for example, knowledge base / Wiki articles) may be preserved by the platform in de-identified form: the material itself remains available to the community as part of the shared knowledge base, and its authorship is detached from the deleted account. For other types of publicly published materials, separate mechanisms for deletion or author de-identification may apply depending on the type of material.

17. Changes to the Terms

SkyForge may update these Terms in connection with new features, changes in legislation or the development of the platform.

The date of the latest revision is always indicated at the beginning of the document.

In the event of significant changes, users may be additionally notified via the platform interface.

If the nature of the changes requires the user's renewed consent under applicable law, SkyForge will request such consent.

18. Governing law

The operator's activities are carried out from the Republic of Armenia.

Relations with the operator are governed by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This provision does not limit the user's mandatory rights granted by the legislation of their country of residence, if such rules apply regardless of the chosen law.

19. Aircraft models created in the design editor

SkyForge provides design tools — the aero-designer editor and any other geometry-generation tool available on the platform — that let the user create aircraft models, geometry, drawings and related technical files.

Aircraft models, geometry, drawings and derived files, including files exported in STEP, STL or other formats, created using SkyForge's design tools may be used only for personal, hobby purposes.

Commercial use of such models is prohibited, including, without limitation, selling them, manufacturing them to order for a third party, or using them as part of a commercial product or service.

Military use or application of such models, in any form, including use in military, combat or other armed contexts, is strictly prohibited.

This restriction applies regardless of the licence granted for user content under Section 5 and continues to apply after a file has been exported outside the platform.

Wider or commercial use of the platform's design tools may become available in the future under separate terms, which will be communicated before such use is offered.
